Israel launched 833 attacks against Palestinians in November

The Cradle, December 3, 2022 — 2022 has become the deadliest year for Palestinians in the West Bank.

The Israeli army and settlers carried out 833 attacks against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank during the month of November alone, according to a report by the Palestinian Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission.

The majority of the attacks, according to the Commission’s monthly report, were committed in Ramallah (central West Bank), followed by Hebron (southern West Bank), and Nablus (northern West Bank).

“The Israeli occupation authorities have issued 57 notices in the same period, ranging from notices of demolition or stopping construction under the pretext of construction without permit, primarily in the governorates of Salfit and Jericho,” the Commission’s head, Moayad Shaaban said in a statement.

In the towns of Salfit, Nablus, Tubas, and Jericho, Israeli soldiers and settlers destroyed more than 797 dunums (196.9 acres) of Palestinian land with the intention of expanding illegal settlements, according to the Commission’s head.

On the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Amnesty International reiterated its call for global action to end the system of apartheid imposed with impunity by the authorities on the Palestinian population.

In August 2022, Israeli forces caused dozens of deaths, injuries, and displaced hundreds of civilians during a brutal bombardment of the besieged Gaza Strip.

“Today, and every day, Amnesty International stands with the Palestinian people in demanding their rights in the face of Israel’s relentless attacks. We call on our supporters around the world to show their solidarity by speaking out, in whatever way they can, to demand an end to Israeli apartheid,” said Heba Morayef, Amnesty International’s Director for West Asia and North Africa.

Israeli forces have intensified military activity in the West Bank this year. According to the UN, 2022 has been the deadliest year for the Palestinian population of the West Bank since at least 2005. Israeli forces have killed 127 Palestinians so far this year, including many minors.
