The Fate of Our America is Tied to the Fate, Integrity, and Dignity of Venezuela

Statement from Casa de las Américas, October 7, 2025 —
The United States is at war. First, against its own citizens, millions of whom—even many of the most lukewarm dissidents of the new order—have suddenly been classified as left-wing radicals, and even terrorists; against its migrants, trapped like animals, humiliated and deported without any judicial ruling; against its large cities, which are being militarized before the indignant eyes of their inhabitants; against the traditional “values” and institutions of liberal democracy, which are in the process of being dismantled.
As part of this delirium, the government has revived the designation of Secretary of War and mobilized ships, submarines, and troops in the Caribbean, where we are well aware of the long and sinister history of U.S. military interventionism. The sponsors of the most atrocious genocide of our time are now entertaining themselves by blowing up small boats off the coast of Venezuela and broadcasting these executions, which are not backed by any legality or morality, on social media, to the astonishment of the international community.
The pretext, once again, is the fight against drug trafficking, a fallacious argument that has served US governments and many of their local allies in Latin America for decades to install military bases, implement interventionist plans, bomb civilians, and overthrow authorities.
This time, the danger has taken on a more dramatic dimension in the face of the threat of a military incursion into Venezuelan territory.
This is obviously the preparation of a scenario conducive to the escalation of war. The warmongering frenzy coincides, not by chance, with the objective of Venezuela’s extreme right to carry out a false flag operation denounced by that country’s government: an attack on the US embassy in Caracas with the aim of using the attack as a casus belli.
The real purpose of the growing military and media onslaught is the old imperial desire to crush the Bolivarian Revolution, control the country’s immense strategic resources, and consolidate dominance over the region, returning it to the era of the Big Stick. For Latin America and the Caribbean, stopping the United States government’s warmongering and preserving the continent as a zone of peace are, right now, our most sacred duties. The Venezuelan people and government should know that they have the support of millions of women and men who are aware that the destiny of Our America is tied to the destiny, integrity, and dignity of Venezuela.
