The attacks on Venezuela are a clear crime of American imperialism

Statement of the Union of Communist Parties SKP-CPSU.

The Union of Communist Parties SKP-CPSU strongly condemns the military aggression and bandit seizure by the US authorities of the legitimate president of the sovereign state – the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela – Nicolas Maduro.

The US actions constitute an act of international terrorism, which, in the interests of American imperialism, has trampled Venezuela’s sovereignty and consigned the United Nations Charter to the dustbin of history. Official Washington has once again returned to the practice of applying the criminal, essentially fascist Monroe Doctrine in foreign policy, laying claim not only to the territory and natural resources of Venezuela, but also to all of Latin America, including Cuba, Colombia, and Mexico. Today, no country on the planet can be completely confident in its security. All the Trump administration’s talk of peace is nothing but a brazen deception. The world faces the real threat of World War III.

The Communists of the SKP-CPSU fully support and support the assessment of the current situation, as set out in the statement of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, “Aggression against Venezuela is an absolute crime of the US imperialists!”

The Communists of the SKP-CPSU express their deep solidarity with the fraternal people of Venezuela, their struggle for independence, and their desire to build a socially just society. There is and can be no justification for the criminal actions of the American military!

The Communist Parties of the SKP and CPSU demand an immediate and unconditional end to Washington’s aggressive actions against the independent state. We emphasize that full responsibility for the life and health of Nicolás Maduro and his wife rests with the leadership of the United States. The Venezuelan President must be unconditionally returned to Caracas to assume his duties as head of state.
