Palestine: 13 Consecutive Days of Zionist Aggression in Jenin
Orinoco Tribune, February 2, 2025 —
The Israeli occupation forces detonated several residential buildings in the Jenin refugee camp after rigging an entire block in the Al-Damj neighborhood and evacuating several adjacent buildings, according to Mansour Al-Saadi, deputy governor of Jenin.
Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that the Zionist occupation forces simultaneously detonated approximately 20 buildings in the eastern part of the Jenin camp after rigging them with explosives on Sunday, February 2. The sounds of massive explosions were heard throughout Jenin city and parts of the governorate’s surrounding towns.
The agency quoted Wisam Bakr, director of Jenin Government Hospital, saying that “some hospital departments sustained damage from the explosions, though no injuries were recorded.”
Residential buildings in the Jenin camp are constructed vertically, with each building containing multiple residential apartments, meaning that a large number of families lost their homes due to the detonation.
Hamas: the aggression will fuel resistance operations
Condemning the aggression, the Hamas movement declared in a statement, “The massive explosions in Jenin demonstrate the ongoing genocide against our Palestinian people in the West Bank, and the occupier’s insistence on continuing the war crimes it committed in the Gaza Strip.”
It added that “the aggression and destruction carried out by the occupation army, along with the spilling of Palestinian blood, will serve as fuel for resistance operations adopted by our people as a strategic choice to liberate the land and expel the usurpers.” The movement called on Arab and Islamic nations and the international community to “bear their historical responsibilities in stopping the occupation’s crimes.”
Aggression on Jenin continues for 13th consecutive day
The Israeli occupation continues its aggression on Jenin city and the Jenin refugee camp for the thirteenth consecutive day, resulting in 25 martyrs, dozens of injuries and arrests, and extensive destruction of property and infrastructure. Additionally, approximately 15,000 people have been forced to evacuate from the camp and Al-Hadaf neighborhood of the city, dispersing across various villages and towns in the governorate since the beginning of the aggression.
Occupation forces murdered seven Palestinians in less than 24 hours across Jenin and Tulkarm.

On Sunday morning, an elderly man was martyred by enemy sniper fire at the entrance of the Jenin camp. On Saturday, five Palestinians, including a child, were martyred in the eastern neighborhood of Jenin city and the southern town of Qabatiya.
The city’s hospitals are suffering from severe water shortages after the occupation targeted and destroyed water lines, preventing water access to approximately 35% of the city’s residents.
Jenin bids farewell to 11 martyrs
On Sunday, Jenin city held funeral processions for 11 martyrs from the city and the camp, after occupation forces had previously prevented their burial.

The funeral procession, limited to family members and close relatives, departed from Jenin Government Hospital after the occupation prevented residents of Jenin city and its camp from participating in the procession and marching through the city streets.
The bodies were transported by ambulances to their families’ residences for final farewell.
