On May 1st, the International Workers’ Day, We Salute the Workers of Iran and the World!
“10 Mehr” Group, May 1st, 2025 —
May 1st, International Workers’ Day, is a day to honor the glorious struggles of the working class and to remind us of the unbreakable bond between labor and human liberation. It is the day when the voices of workers — the unassuming builders of society — resound across the globe. This day is not merely a commemoration, but a symbol of workers’ historical struggle to achieve human rights, fair working conditions, and a life of dignity. On this international day, we salute all the workers of Iran and the world — pioneers of hardship and hope — and we bow to their tireless resistance against injustice, poverty, and exploitation.
May 1st is a glorious day of international solidarity for the working class. On this day, we not only celebrate past achievements, but also reflect on the challenges ahead: economic inequality, job insecurity, and the need to support the workforce in an era of technological change and climate crisis. We believe that all progress must center on the well-being of workers.
In our country, Iran, the working class is enduring one of the most difficult periods in its modern history. Unprecedented inequality, suppressed wages amidst rampant inflation, the elimination of job security, the spread of temporary and blank contracts, the erosion of the social welfare system, insecure housing, and deepening structural poverty have darkened the lives of millions of workers.
At the same time, powerful, corrupt capitalists and profiteers continue to exploit workers without the slightest regard for their dignity and lives. Institutions such as the Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Labor, which are supposed to defend workers’ rights, have effectively become tools for imposing and consolidating unrestrained capitalist dominance.
In such circumstances, the working class is compelled to insist on its natural and legitimate right to organize, protest, and bring about change. Workers are the solid pillars of our society, the life-giving force of production, and the guarantors of this land’s future. No sustainable and progressive transformation in our country is possible without the freedom and well-being of workers. Consequently, on this day, the “10 Mehr” Group, in solidarity with Iran’s working class, once again emphasizes these fundamental demands:
- The unconditional recognition of workers’ rights to form independent labor unions.
- An end to repressive policies against labor protests, and recognition of workers’ rights to strike, assemble, and protest.
- The guarantee of workers’ social and human rights, including healthcare, dignified retirement, adequate housing, and free education for workers’ families.
- Application of the Labor Law to all workshops regardless of the number of their employees.
- A decisive battle against structural corruption and the economic mafia that have taken national interests and workers’ rights hostage.
On this glorious day, the “10 Mehr” Group stands with Iran’s workers and fights to strengthen their solidarity, achieve their just demands, and organize their independent unions.
Long live international workers’ solidarity!
Victory to the struggle of Iranian workers for freedom, social justice, and human dignity!
